A Tale of Concussion in 1536

It was a cold January day in 1536, and the history of England was about to change. A 44-year old man, 6‘1“ and renowned for his manly good looks, as well as his prowess at archery and real tennis, mounted his horse. He took care to lower his visor – he still had migraines from that time he got hit when he had forgotten to lower it and was hit by his opponent just above his right eye.

The lists at the Royal Palace in Greenwich had seen many jousting accidents over the centuries, fully armoured horse thundering at each other bearing their fully armoured knights holding their 8-foot long hollow lances, trying to knock the other off. This time seemed no different, except that when our hero was knocked off he was unconsious for two hours, and at first it was feared that he had died. It is from that time that he seemed to change. Nowadays, even five minutes of unconsciousness is counted as major trauma.

What a difference Cranial Osteopathy might have made to Henry VIII! He might have stayed married to Anne Boleyn. He might have remained slim and athletic and generous at heart, rather than becoming bloated, paranoid and vicious.

Cranial osteopathy is wonderful for reducing shock and treating concussion.

Who do you know who has had head injuries? I can help! Please contact me via email or call 07535 350 343 for an initial chat.
