Osteopathic treatments for so many conditions

Every person is unique

At Your Body in Harmony, I’ll treat as the individual you are. All are welcome, from tiny babies to elderly folk… let’s turn down the volume on your aches and pains.

How Osteopathy can help you…

For your body to work well, its structure must also work well, (General Osteopathic Council). This holistic approach is the foundation of your osteopathic treatment. Osteopathy helps your health and wellbeing by focusing on your joints, muscles and spine.

You may be surprised at the wide range of conditions that Osteopathy can help. After all, Osteopathy is much more than treating bad backs! (Although I do this very well!)

The most common conditions that I treat are:

  • Sciatica
  • Knee pain
  • Back pain – upper back and lower back
  • Lumbago
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Shoulder pain – including frozen shoulder
  • Neck pain
  • Elbow pain – including Tennis Elbow
  • Slipped disc
  • Muscle spasm
  • Chronic pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Digestive problems
  • General aches and pains
  • Arthritic pain

Osteopathic Treatments

  • Osteopathy
During your half-hour treatment, I will discover and treat your body’s problems using a range of techniques such as articulation, stretching and massage. It is a holistic treatment, looking at reducing pain, and increasing mobility and flexibility. (Find out more about osteopathy).
  • Osteopathic MOT Treatments
Regular ‘MOT’ treatments are great for checking your posture and keeping your ache and pains at bay, akin to an eye test or a dental check-up. I am particularly keen to help older patients to keep as fit as supple as possible – regular ‘top ups’ are a great help.
  • Cranial Osteopathy
Cranial Osteopathy uses very gentle pressure to encourage the release of stresses throughout the body, including the head.

It is a kindly and relaxing treatment – some patients fall asleep during their treatment! It is renowned for being helpful for children and young babies, but older patients benefit too – essentially it helps the body to process shock and trauma, which can come in all shapes and sizes. A bit like patients.

  • Osteopathic Massage
Life can be fast-paced and demanding, creating stress upon our body and minds. An osteopathic massage, using deep-acting soft-tissue techniques, relieves the knots and tensions that our lifestyles create. As well as being very relaxing and soothing, osteopathic massage can help prevent conditions caused by poor posture.
  • Post-Op Osteopathy
Gentle osteopathy after operations can help recovery and reduce pain. Treatment will aim to restore your body’s range of movement and flexibility – what I like to call “glide”.
