Jumping Through Hoops

Does life feel as if you are jumping through hoops?

Sometimes, with all our big plans and best intentions, life has other plans for us. WE might have been planning to post on LinkedIn every weekday, or design a new online course, or whatever, but then – other work comes in, technological melt-down visits our computer, we are travelling with less time than we had hoped. What then?

Maybe we keep jumping through hoops to get everything done by our self-imposed deadline, or maybe we choose to roll with it…

We can extend the completion date of launching our on-line course.

We can ponder ideas for those articles and let our subconscious do some planning while we are on the road.

There ARE times when disciplined focus (and burning the midnight oil) will get the job done, but if this goes on for too long, the prolonged stress, and lack of sleep, can seriously damage our health.

Yes, it’s good to push ourselves and stretch our comfort zone, within limits, but we also need a sense of balance, of dynamic equilibrium. Having a rich sense of well-being is not just about the physical body, it also embraces the mental, emotional and spiritual parts of who we are as individuals.

Life can be like the Argentine tango – sometimes you are the leader, and sometimes the follower.

When we allow enough light and space in our lives to feed our joy, then our creative wellspring may indeed be inspired to take us to new places that our weary souls could not have begun to imagine.
