Some of my osteopathic colleagues have started going back, but for me, this whole relaxing of Lockdown [which I feel was unnecessarily delayed] simply feels too soon.
When professors at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine advise that we should wait – well, shall we say, I would rather listen to the scientists than to the politicians on this.
Yes the death rate thankfully appears to be falling, but how will a more lax lockdown affect that? That will take a few weeks to emerge, and I would rather watch and wait.
All the lovely patients I have spoken with so far also feel that it is too soon, and they are happy to wait.
Clearly they are missing their regular loosening up sessions, but they appreciate the need for caution.
And since normally, as well as seeing patients here at home, I see patients at two clinics [in Hitchin and Sydenham] owned by other people I need to be reassured that the measures that they are putting in place are robust.
So, not an easy decision.
Watch this space . . .
